Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Charles Landseer achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in July 2012. In the Andrew Wyld: Connoisseur Dealer auction, the work The hind quarters of an écorché dog; Three studies of the hind leg of an écorché god; A partly dissected head of a horse, seen from the front; and An écorché dog sold for GBP 7,500.00 (€ 9,552.98) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Landseer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Return of the Dove to the Ark in February 2003 with an auction result of GBP 133,150.00 (€ 194,394.80).
In der Auktion Andrew Wyld: Connoisseur Dealer wurde die Arbeit The hind quarters of an écorché dog; Three studies of the hind leg of an écorché god; A partly dissected head of a horse, seen from the front; and An écorché dog für GBP 7.500,00 (€ 9.552,98) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 3.000,00.
