Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Recall Message by Charles Landseer was sold in the British and Victorian Pictures auction at Christies in London in March 2005. The price achieved of GBP 840.00 (€ 1,223.37) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 700.00 – 900.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Landseer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Return of the Dove to the Ark in February 2003 with an auction result of GBP 133,150.00 (€ 194,394.80).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Recall Message von Charles Landseer wurde im März 2005 in der Auktion British and Victorian Pictures bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 840,00 (€ 1.223,37) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 700,00 – 900,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Charles Landseer erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Return of the Dove to the Ark im Februar 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 133.150,00 (€ 194.394,80).
