Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2002 Christies in London held the auction British, Victorian and Scottish Pictures including Pictures, which included the work Money for the course by Charles Landseer. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 700.00 – 1,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 705.00 (€ 1,152.49) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Landseer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Return of the Dove to the Ark in February 2003 with an auction result of GBP 133,150.00 (€ 194,394.80).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2002 führte Christies in London die Auktion British, Victorian and Scottish Pictures including Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Money for the course von Charles Landseer zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 700,00 – 1.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 705,00 (€ 1.152,49) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Charles Landseer erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Return of the Dove to the Ark im Februar 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 133.150,00 (€ 194.394,80).
