Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May this year Christies in London held the auction Remastered: Old Masters from the Collection of J.E. Safra - Selling Without Reserve, which included the work Rêverie by Charles Chaplin. The »bidding war« ended at USD 11,970.00 (€ 11,235.22), 20% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Charles Chaplin have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Le rêve: The dream in July 2008 with an auction result of GBP 55,250.00 (€ 70,195.75).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Mai diesen Jahres führte Christies in London die Auktion Remastered: Old Masters from the Collection of J.E. Safra - Selling Without Reserve durch, in der auch die Arbeit Rêverie von Charles Chaplin zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 11.970,00 (€ 11.235,22) und damit 20% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Charles Chaplin auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Le rêve: The dream im Juli 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 55.250,00 (€ 70.195,75).
