Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2016 Sothebys in New York held the auction Master Paintings & 19th Century European Art, which included the work Les Petits Pêcheurs by Charles Chaplin. The price achieved of USD 12,500.00 (€ 11,539.88) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by Charles Chaplin have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Le rêve: The dream in July 2008 with an auction result of GBP 55,250.00 (€ 70,195.75).
