Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2017 Christies in London held the auction 19th Century European Art, which included the work Venus and Cupid by Charles Chaplin. The price achieved of GBP 4,375.00 (€ 5,127.07) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Chaplin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Le rêve: The dream in July 2008 with an auction result of GBP 55,250.00 (€ 70,195.75).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2017 führte Christies in London die Auktion 19th Century European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Venus and Cupid von Charles Chaplin zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 4.375,00 (€ 5.127,07) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Charles Chaplin erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Le rêve: The dream im Juli 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 55.250,00 (€ 70.195,75).
