Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Edinburgh from the East; and Roslin Castle by Charles Halkerston was auctioned at Christies in London in November 2011. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 625.00 (€ 729.62) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Charles Halkerston have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work View from the studio window at Buccleuch Place in November 2011 with an auction result of GBP 2,750.00 (€ 3,210.34).
