In September 2020 Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction Post-War & Contemporary Art X Made in California, which included the work Fossil, 1989 by Charles Fine. The »bidding war« ended at USD 1,785.00 (€ 1,523.30), 49% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Fine achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Hueso, 1992 in April 2021 with an auction result of USD 20,312.50 (€ 16,884.87).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 49 % übertroffen
Im September 2020 führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art X Made in California durch, in der auch die Arbeit Fossil, 1989 von Charles Fine zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 1.785,00 (€ 1.523,30) und damit 49% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Charles Fine erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Hueso, 1992 im April 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 20.312,50 (€ 16.884,87).
