Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Eleventh Story, 1985 by Charles Fine was auctioned at Bonhams in Los Angeles in September 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,275.00 (€ 1,088.07). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Fine achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Hueso, 1992 in April 2021 with an auction result of USD 20,312.50 (€ 16,884.87).
