In August 2009 Sothebys in Melbourne held the auction Important Australian Art, which included the work British Brighton by Charles Conder. The result of AUD 60,000.00 (€ 35,275.18) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of AUD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Conder achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work British the Fatal Colors in August 2008 with an auction result of AUD 702,000.00 (€ 409,791.12).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im August 2009 führte Sothebys in Melbourne die Auktion Important Australian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit British Brighton von Charles Conder zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von AUD 60.000,00 (€ 35.275,18) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von AUD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Charles Conder erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit British the Fatal Colors im August 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 702.000,00 (€ 409.791,12).
