Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Charles Chaplin could be acquired at Sothebys in London in November 2011 for an unexpectedly low price. In the European Paintings auction, the work French fille A La Lecture changed hands for GBP 6,250.00 (€ 7,296.24) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Admittedly, works by Charles Chaplin have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Le rêve: The dream in July 2008 with an auction result of GBP 55,250.00 (€ 70,195.75).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Charles Chaplin konnte im November 2011 bei Sothebys in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion European Paintings wechselte die Arbeit French fille A La Lecture für GBP 6.250,00 (€ 7.296,24) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Charles Chaplin auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Le rêve: The dream im Juli 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 55.250,00 (€ 70.195,75).
