Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2021 Bonhams in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Untitled (Two Female Figures) by Chaim Gross. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 500.00 – 700.00, the actual price achieved of USD 510.00 (€ 418.24) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Chaim Gross achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Unicyclist in November 2019 with an auction result of USD 37,500.00 (€ 34,032.13).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2021 führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Two Female Figures) von Chaim Gross zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 500,00 – 700,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 510,00 (€ 418,24) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Chaim Gross erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Unicyclist im November 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 37.500,00 (€ 34.032,13).
