Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Meadow (Wild Flowers) by Cedric Morris was auctioned at Sothebys in London in November 2020. The price achieved of GBP 50,400.00 (€ 56,263.41) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Cedric Morris - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Poppies, which sold at auction in June 2017 for GBP 131,000.00 (€ 149,184.56).

Die Arbeit Meadow (Wild Flowers) von Cedric Morris kam im November 2020 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 50.400,00 (€ 56.263,41) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Cedric Morris mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Poppies beobachtet, die im Juni 2017 für GBP 131.000,00 (€ 149.184,56) versteigert wurde.
