Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Landscape (Hadleigh) by Cedric Morris was sold in the Modern & Post-War British Art auction at Sothebys in London in November 2019. The price achieved of GBP 15,000.00 (€ 17,613.67) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Admittedly, works by Cedric Morris have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Poppies in June 2017 with an auction result of GBP 131,000.00 (€ 149,184.56).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Landscape (Hadleigh) von Cedric Morris wurde im November 2019 in der Auktion Modern & Post-War British Art bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 15.000,00 (€ 17.613,67) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Cedric Morris auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Poppies im Juni 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 131.000,00 (€ 149.184,56).
