Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Cedric Morris achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in November 2019. In the Modern & Post-War British Art auction, the work Still Life (Scabious, Carnations And Hemerocallis) sold for GBP 75,000.00 (€ 88,068.34) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 35,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Cedric Morris; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Poppies sold at auction in June 2017 with the realized price of GBP 131,000.00 (€ 149,184.56).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Cedric Morris erzielte im November 2019 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern & Post-War British Art wurde die Arbeit Still Life (Scabious, Carnations And Hemerocallis) für GBP 75.000,00 (€ 88.068,34) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 35.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Cedric Morris; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Poppies im Juni 2017 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 131.000,00 (€ 149.184,56).
