Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Cedric Morris achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in November 2018. In the Modern British Art Day Sale auction, the work Pumpkin and Pots sold for GBP 40,000.00 (€ 45,118.78) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 18,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Cedric Morris - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Poppies, which sold at auction in June 2017 for GBP 131,000.00 (€ 149,184.56).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Cedric Morris erzielte im November 2018 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern British Art Day Sale wurde die Arbeit Pumpkin and Pots für GBP 40.000,00 (€ 45.118,78) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 18.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Cedric Morris mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Poppies beobachtet, die im Juni 2017 für GBP 131.000,00 (€ 149.184,56) versteigert wurde.
