Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Derby Day by Cecil Charles Windsor Aldin was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2011. The price achieved of GBP 10,000.00 (€ 11,976.41) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Cecil Charles Windsor Aldin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work J. Ashton Radcliffe, M.F.H., Hunting with the South Dorset Hunt, which sold at auction in November 2007 for USD 37,000.00 (€ 25,190.63).
