This artwork by Cecil Charles Windsor Aldin achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in May 2011. In the Christie's Interiors auction, the work An illustration for John Masefield's 'Right Royal: An imaginary race - the English Chaser's Cup' sold for GBP 1,750.00 (€ 2,001.13) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 600.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Cecil Charles Windsor Aldin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work J. Ashton Radcliffe, M.F.H., Hunting with the South Dorset Hunt in November 2007 with an auction result of USD 37,000.00 (€ 25,190.63).
