Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2008 a collector was able to acquire the work Try Again by Cary Smith for USD 1,125.00 (€ 887.08). This price was achieved in the auction Saturday@Phillips at Phillips in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Cary Smith have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Blue Wonder Wheel #9 in March 2017 with an auction result of USD 8,750.00 (€ 8,179.10).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober 2008 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Try Again von Cary Smith für USD 1.125,00 (€ 887,08) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Saturday@Phillips bei Phillips in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.500,00 – 2.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Cary Smith auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Blue Wonder Wheel #9 im März 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 8.750,00 (€ 8.179,10).
