The work Scenes & Takes (The Bad And The Beautiful) by Carrie Mae Weems was sold in the Contemporary Art | New York auction at Sothebys in New York in July 2020. The price achieved of USD 56,250.00 (€ 47,774.76) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. Admittedly, works by Carrie Mae Weems have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Kitchen Table Series in November 2019 with an auction result of USD 237,500.00 (€ 215,536.80).
