Auction result misses estimated price range
In April last year a collector was able to acquire the work Mom at Work from Family Pictures and Stories by Carrie Mae Weems for USD 6,930.00 (€ 6,576.82). This price was achieved in the auction Photographs at Phillips in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 7,000.00 – 9,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Carrie Mae Weems achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Kitchen Table Series in November 2019 with an auction result of USD 237,500.00 (€ 215,536.80).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im April letzten Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Mom at Work from Family Pictures and Stories von Carrie Mae Weems für USD 6.930,00 (€ 6.576,82) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Photographs bei Phillips in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 7.000,00 – 9.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Carrie Mae Weems erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Kitchen Table Series im November 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 237.500,00 (€ 215.536,80).
