Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled (from Africa Series), 1993 by Carrie Mae Weems was auctioned at Christies in New York in April last year. The price achieved of USD 11,340.00 (€ 10,762.08) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Carrie Mae Weems achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Kitchen Table Series in November 2019 with an auction result of USD 237,500.00 (€ 215,536.80).

Die Arbeit Untitled (from Africa Series), 1993 von Carrie Mae Weems kam im April letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 11.340,00 (€ 10.762,08) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Carrie Mae Weems erzielen.
