Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Native American Stepping Into A Canoe by Carl Kauba was sold in the American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture auction at Sothebys in New York in June 2016. It changed hands for a price of USD 17,500.00 (€ 15,862.94) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 14,000.00 – 18,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Carl Kauba - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Indian Chief, which sold at auction in September 2008 for USD 46,875.00 (€ 33,289.54).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Native American Stepping Into A Canoe von Carl Kauba wurde im Juni 2016 in der Auktion American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 17.500,00 (€ 15.862,94) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 14.000,00 – 18.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Carl Kauba mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Indian Chief beobachtet, die im September 2008 für USD 46.875,00 (€ 33.289,54) versteigert wurde.
