Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Carl Kauba could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in September 2012 for an unexpectedly low price. In the American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture auction, the work How-Kola! changed hands for USD 4,063.00 (€ 3,160.39) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Carl Kauba achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Indian Chief in September 2008 with an auction result of USD 46,875.00 (€ 33,289.54).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Carl Kauba konnte im September 2012 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture wechselte die Arbeit How-Kola! für USD 4.063,00 (€ 3.160,39) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Carl Kauba erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Indian Chief im September 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 46.875,00 (€ 33.289,54).
