Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Trimul Naik's Palace, Madura, Arcade on the Right Side of the Entrance by Linnaeus Tripe was auctioned at Christies in London in May 2001. It changed hands for a price of GBP 11,750.00 (€ 19,699.14) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 10,000.00 – 12,000.00. Admittedly, works by Linnaeus Tripe have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Views of India, Indonesia and Myanmar (Burma), c. 1858 in September 2017 with an auction result of USD 107,500.00 (€ 91,001.44).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Trimul Naik's Palace, Madura, Arcade on the Right Side of the Entrance von Linnaeus Tripe kam im Mai 2001 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 11.750,00 (€ 19.699,14) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 12.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Linnaeus Tripe auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Views of India, Indonesia and Myanmar (Burma), c. 1858 im September 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 107.500,00 (€ 91.001,44).
