This work without title by But Mochtar was sold in the Modern and Contemporary Art Morning Session auction at Christies in Hong Kong in December 2020. It achieved a price of HKD 325,000.00 (€ 34,280.46), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 30%. Admittedly, works by But Mochtar have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Patung Elemen Estetik (Study Of Esthetic Principles) in April 2014 with an auction result of HKD 3,640,000.00 (€ 338,543.62).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 30 % übertroffen
Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von But Mochtar wurde im Dezember 2020 in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Art Morning Session bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von HKD 325.000,00 (€ 34.280,46) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 30%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von But Mochtar auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Patung Elemen Estetik (Study Of Esthetic Principles) im April 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 3.640.000,00 (€ 338.543,62).
