Auction result misses estimated price range
In November 2016 a collector was able to acquire the work THE BALLOON SELLER by But Mochtar for HKD 87,500.00 (€ 10,662.46). This price was achieved in the auction Asian 20th Century Art (Day Sale) at Christies in Hong Kong and was even below the estimate range of HKD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by But Mochtar achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Patung Elemen Estetik (Study Of Esthetic Principles) in April 2014 with an auction result of HKD 3,640,000.00 (€ 338,543.62).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im November 2016 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit THE BALLOON SELLER von But Mochtar für HKD 87.500,00 (€ 10.662,46) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Asian 20th Century Art (Day Sale) bei Christies in Hong Kong erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 100.000,00 – 150.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von But Mochtar erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Patung Elemen Estetik (Study Of Esthetic Principles) im April 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 3.640.000,00 (€ 338.543,62).
