In October 2012 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Modern & Contemporary Southeast Asian Paintings, which included the work Perahu (Boats) by But Mochtar. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 100,000.00 (€ 9,955.24), 25% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by But Mochtar achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Patung Elemen Estetik (Study Of Esthetic Principles) in April 2014 with an auction result of HKD 3,640,000.00 (€ 338,543.62).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Im Oktober 2012 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Modern & Contemporary Southeast Asian Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Perahu (Boats) von But Mochtar zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 100.000,00 (€ 9.955,24) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von But Mochtar erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Patung Elemen Estetik (Study Of Esthetic Principles) im April 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 3.640.000,00 (€ 338.543,62).
