This artwork by Bruce Bernard achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in March 2014. In the Post-War and Contemporary Art auction, the work Francis Bacon In The Doorway Of His Studio, 1984 sold for GBP 6,000.00 (€ 7,262.10) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00. Admittedly, works by Bruce Bernard have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work (i) Lucian Freud posing as a Henry Moore, 1983; (ii) Leigh Bowery and Nicola Bateman posing for 'And The Husband (1)', 1993; (iii) Lucian Freud standing with portrait of Leigh Bowery, 1990; (iv) Leigh Bowery posing for Lucian Freud's 'Leigh under th in October 2002 with an auction result of GBP 18,522.50 (€ 29,299.3
