Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Francis Bacon In The Studio Doorway, 1983 by Bruce Bernard was auctioned at Bonhams in March this year. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 1,200.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 1,211.25 (€ 1,378.03). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Bruce Bernard achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work (i) Lucian Freud posing as a Henry Moore, 1983; (ii) Leigh Bowery and Nicola Bateman posing for 'And The Husband (1)', 1993; (iii) Lucian Freud standing with portrait of Leigh Bowery, 1990; (iv) Leigh Bowery posing for Lucian Freud's 'Leigh under th in October 2002 with an auction result of GBP 18,522.50 (€ 29,299.

Die Arbeit Francis Bacon In The Studio Doorway, 1983 von Bruce Bernard kam im März diesen Jahres bei Bonhams zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 1.200,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 1.211,25 (€ 1.378,03) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Bruce Bernard erzielen.
