Auction result well in line with expectations
The work 6 Coloured Bars Stacked by Brent Wadden was sold in the Contemporary Art auction at Sothebys in New York in October 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 20,160.00 (€ 17,309.18) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Brent Wadden have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Alignment (13) in June 2015 with an auction result of GBP 122,500.00 (€ 172,723.46).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit 6 Coloured Bars Stacked von Brent Wadden wurde im Oktober 2020 in der Auktion Contemporary Art bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 20.160,00 (€ 17.309,18) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Brent Wadden auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Alignment (13) im Juni 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 122.500,00 (€ 172.723,46).
