In July 2021 Christies in London held the auction Post War and Contemporary Art Day Sale, which included the work The East Village by Brent Wadden. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 37,500.00 (€ 43,976.53), 25% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Brent Wadden - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Alignment (13), which sold at auction in June 2015 for GBP 122,500.00 (€ 172,723.46).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Im Juli 2021 führte Christies in London die Auktion Post War and Contemporary Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit The East Village von Brent Wadden zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 37.500,00 (€ 43.976,53) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Brent Wadden mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Alignment (13) beobachtet, die im Juni 2015 für GBP 122.500,00 (€ 172.723,46) versteigert wurde.
