Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Boris Kustodiev achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in June 2017. In the Russian Art auction, the work Costume design for Alexander Ostrovsky's play 'Wolves and Sheep': Apollon Viktorovich Murzavetsky sold for GBP 21,250.00 (€ 24,199.79) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Boris Kustodiev achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Coachman in November 2012 with an auction result of GBP 4,409,250.00 (€ 5,431,748.64).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Boris Kustodiev erzielte im Juni 2017 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Russian Art wurde die Arbeit Costume design for Alexander Ostrovsky's play 'Wolves and Sheep': Apollon Viktorovich Murzavetsky für GBP 21.250,00 (€ 24.199,79) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 8.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Boris Kustodiev erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Coachman im November 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.409.250,00 (€ 5.431.748,64).
