BLINKY PALERMO (1943-1977) Siegel screenprint in black and red, on Bristol paper, 1970, signed and dated in pencil on the reverse, numbered 99/100 (there were also ten artist's proofs), published by Edition Staeck, Heidelberg, Germany, the full sheet, in very good condition Sheet: 24 3 ⁄ 4 x 19 in. (628 x 482 mm.)
Auction result well in line with expectations
In April this year Christies in New York held the auction The Sale of the Century: An Important Corporate Collection of Prints and Multiples: Online, which included the work Siegel by Blinky Palermo. The price achieved of USD 1,764.00 (€ 1,597.83) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Blinky Palermo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Ohne Titel in May last year with an auction result of USD 5,640,000.00 (€ 5,255,800.95).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April diesen Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion The Sale of the Century: An Important Corporate Collection of Prints and Multiples: Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Siegel von Blinky Palermo zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 1.764,00 (€ 1.597,83) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Blinky Palermo erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Ohne Titel im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 5.640.000,00 (€ 5.255.800,95).
