BLINKY PALERMO (1943-1977) Oliv/Silber screenprint in olive and silver, on offset paper, 1971, signed and dated in pencil, numbered 64/100 (there were also ten artist's proofs), published by Galerie Heiner Friedrich, Munich, with full margins, in very good condition Image: 25 7 ⁄ 8 x 22 3 ⁄ 4 in. (655 x 575 mm.) Sheet: 29 x 25 3 ⁄ 4 in. (735 x 655 mm.)
Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In April this year Christies in New York held the auction The Sale of the Century: An Important Corporate Collection of Prints and Multiples: Online, which included the work Oliv/Silber by Blinky Palermo. Here, the upper estimate of USD 2,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 2,142.00 (€ 1,940.22). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Blinky Palermo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Ohne Titel in May last year with an auction result of USD 5,640,000.00 (€ 5,255,800.95).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im April diesen Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion The Sale of the Century: An Important Corporate Collection of Prints and Multiples: Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Oliv/Silber von Blinky Palermo zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 2.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 2.142,00 (€ 1.940,22) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Blinky Palermo erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Ohne Titel im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 5.640.000,00 (€ 5.255.800,95).
