BLINKY PALERMO (1943-1977) Ohne Titel (mit Komma) screenprint in colors, on card, 1971, signed and dated in pencil, numbered 80/100 (there were also ten artist's proofs), published by Edition Staeck, Heidelberg, Germany, with full margins, in good condition Image: 13 1 ⁄ 8 x 21 7 ⁄ 8 in. (333 x 555 mm.) Sheet: 19 x 27 3 ⁄ 4 in. (480 x 705 mm.)
Auction result well in line with expectations
In April this year Christies in New York held the auction The Sale of the Century: An Important Corporate Collection of Prints and Multiples: Online, which included the work Ohne Titel (mit Komma) by Blinky Palermo. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 2,142.00 (€ 1,940.22) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Blinky Palermo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Ohne Titel in May last year with an auction result of USD 5,640,000.00 (€ 5,255,800.95).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April diesen Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion The Sale of the Century: An Important Corporate Collection of Prints and Multiples: Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Ohne Titel (mit Komma) von Blinky Palermo zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 2.142,00 (€ 1.940,22) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Blinky Palermo erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Ohne Titel im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 5.640.000,00 (€ 5.255.800,95).
