Auction result misses estimated price range
When this work without title by Bjarne Melgaard was auctioned at Bukowski in Stockholm in April last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of SEK 100,000.00 – 125,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for SEK 45,000.00 (€ 4,356.08). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Bjarne Melgaard achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work "Kill Me Before I Do It Myself" in May 2013 with an auction result of SEK 2,500,000.00 (€ 290,652.91).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Bjarne Melgaard im April letzten Jahres bei Bukowski in Stockholm versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von SEK 100.000,00 – 125.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für SEK 45.000,00 (€ 4.356,08) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Bjarne Melgaard erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit "Kill Me Before I Do It Myself" im Mai 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von SEK 2.500.000,00 (€ 290.652,91).
