Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Four works from Suburbia: (i) I Really Love Him, 1972; (ii) I Put My Hair up Once or Twice a Week, 1972; (iii) I Wanted Christina to Learn Some Responsibility for Cleaning Her Room, 1972; (iv) Everything About Sex Movie, by Bill Owens was auctioned at Phillips in New York in October 2008, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fa Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Bill Owens achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Suburbia, 1973 in April 2006 with an auction result of USD 90,000.00 (€ 71,292.78).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Bill Owens konnte im Oktober 2008 bei Phillips in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Saturday@Phillips wechselte die Arbeit Four works from Suburbia: (i) I Really Love Him, 1972; (ii) I Put My Hair up Once or Twice a Week, 1972; (iii) I Wanted Christina to Learn Some Responsibility for Cleaning Her Room, 1972; (iv) Everything About Sex Movie, für USD 3.750,00 (€ 2.956,95) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Bill Owens erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Suburbia, 1973 im April 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 90.000,00 (€ 71.292,78).
