Artwork auctioned at ten times the upper estimate price
When the work Thought Series #2336 by Bill Jacobson was auctioned at Christies in New York in December 2017, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - USD 300.00 but the actual price achieved was more than ten times as high at USD 3,000.00 (€ 2,495.43). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Bill Jacobson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work #3543, which sold at auction in September 2021 for USD 6,300.00 (€ 5,441.82).
