Auction result misses estimated price range
In March this year a collector was able to acquire the work When She Was...! (After Censor) by Bikash Bhattacharjee for USD 11,340.00 (€ 10,430.46). This price was achieved in the auction South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art Online at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Bikash Bhattacharjee achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Red Balloon in May 2007 with an auction result of GBP 102,000.00 (€ 150,099.90).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im März diesen Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit When She Was...! (After Censor) von Bikash Bhattacharjee für USD 11.340,00 (€ 10.430,46) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art Online bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Bikash Bhattacharjee erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Red Balloon im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 102.000,00 (€ 150.099,90).
