This artwork by Bikash Bhattacharjee achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in March last year. In the South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art Online auction, the work Untitled (Seated Nude) sold for USD 56,700.00 (€ 51,113.31) - well above the upper estimate of USD 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Bikash Bhattacharjee - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Red Balloon, which sold at auction in May 2007 for GBP 102,000.00 (€ 150,099.90).

In der Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art Online wurde die Arbeit Untitled (Seated Nude) für USD 56.700,00 (€ 51.113,31) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 30.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Bikash Bhattacharjee mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Red Balloon beobachtet, die im Mai 2007 für GBP 102.000,00 (€ 150.099,90) versteigert wurde.
