This artwork by Bian Wenyu achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in March 2018. In the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy auction, the work The Peach Blossom Spring sold for USD 43,750.00 (€ 35,511.36) - well above the upper estimate of USD 25,000.00. Admittedly, works by Bian Wenyu have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Landscape in October 2017 with an auction result of HKD 1,500,000.00 (€ 165,092.72).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 75 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Bian Wenyu erzielte im März 2018 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy wurde die Arbeit The Peach Blossom Spring für USD 43.750,00 (€ 35.511,36) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 25.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Bian Wenyu auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Landscape im Oktober 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.500.000,00 (€ 165.092,72).
