In April 2018 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Classical Chinese Paintings, which included the work Scholars Beside A River by Bian Wenyu. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 43,750.00 (€ 4,616.32), 46% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Bian Wenyu achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Landscape in October 2017 with an auction result of HKD 1,500,000.00 (€ 165,092.72).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 46 % übertroffen
Im April 2018 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Scholars Beside A River von Bian Wenyu zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 43.750,00 (€ 4.616,32) und damit 46% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Bian Wenyu erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Landscape im Oktober 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.500.000,00 (€ 165.092,72).
