Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Takin' a chance on luv by Betye Saar was auctioned at Christies in New York in March this year. The price achieved of USD 1,638.00 (€ 1,506.62) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Betye Saar achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Her Story in May this year with an auction result of USD 315,000.00 (€ 295,663.60).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Takin' a chance on luv von Betye Saar kam im März diesen Jahres bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 1.638,00 (€ 1.506,62) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Betye Saar erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Her Story im Mai diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 315.000,00 (€ 295.663,60).
