This artwork by Bernard Meadows achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in July 2020. In the Modern & Post-War British Art Day Sale auction, the work Standing Mother And Child sold for GBP 47,500.00 (€ 52,982.63) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 18,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Bernard Meadows - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Startled Bird, which sold at auction in November 2013 for GBP 134,500.00 (€ 161,852.75).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Bernard Meadows erzielte im Juli 2020 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern & Post-War British Art Day Sale wurde die Arbeit Standing Mother And Child für GBP 47.500,00 (€ 52.982,63) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 18.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Bernard Meadows mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Startled Bird beobachtet, die im November 2013 für GBP 134.500,00 (€ 161.852,75) versteigert wurde.
