Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Benjamin West could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in January 2017 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master Drawings auction, the work Tree In A Field With A Barn Beyond changed hands for USD 1,625.00 (€ 1,505.47) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Benjamin West achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of Prince William (1776-1834), Later 2Nd Duke Of Gloucester And Edinburgh, And His Elder Sister, Princess Sophia (1773-1844) Of Gloucester in July 2013 with an auction result of GBP 578,500.00 (€ 661,037.08).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
