Upper estimated price slightly exceeded

Here, the upper estimate of USD 9,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 10,080.00 (€ 8,725.76). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Benjamin West achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of Prince William (1776-1834), Later 2Nd Duke Of Gloucester And Edinburgh, And His Elder Sister, Princess Sophia (1773-1844) Of Gloucester in July 2013 with an auction result of GBP 578,500.00 (€ 661,037.08).
