Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Quartertyp by Bendix Harms was auctioned at Phillips in New York in March 2010, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 8,000.00 – 10,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 6,250.00 (€ 4,620.73). Admittedly, works by Bendix Harms have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled III. 1983. in July 2020 with an auction result of CHF 46,660.00 (€ 43,485.66).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Quartertyp von Bendix Harms im März 2010 bei Phillips in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 8.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 6.250,00 (€ 4.620,73) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Bendix Harms auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled III. 1983. im Juli 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von CHF 46.660,00 (€ 43.485,66).
