Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Study (Ends Touch, Ends Cut: Walked Zig-Zag, End Over End) by Barry Le Va was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in October 2019. It changed hands for a price of USD 7,500.00 (€ 6,723.44) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Barry Le Va - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Three works: (i) Double Drawing; (ii) Untitled (feld & glas); (iii) Sheets to Strips to Particles, which sold at auction in February 2019 for USD 22,500.00 (€ 19,773.27).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Study (Ends Touch, Ends Cut: Walked Zig-Zag, End Over End) von Barry Le Va kam im Oktober 2019 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 7.500,00 (€ 6.723,44) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Barry Le Va mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Three works: (i) Double Drawing; (ii) Untitled (feld & glas); (iii) Sheets to Strips to Particles beobachtet, die im Februar 2019 für USD 22.500,00 (€ 19.773,27) versteigert wurde.
