Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In September 2020 Phillips in New York held the auction New Now, which included the work Street Musician (Atlantic City) by Barnaby Furnas. The »bidding war« ended at USD 21,250.00 (€ 18,134.49), 18% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Barnaby Furnas achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Hamburger Hill in May 2011 with an auction result of USD 422,500.00 (€ 293,892.60).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im September 2020 führte Phillips in New York die Auktion New Now durch, in der auch die Arbeit Street Musician (Atlantic City) von Barnaby Furnas zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 21.250,00 (€ 18.134,49) und damit 18% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Barnaby Furnas erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Hamburger Hill im Mai 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 422.500,00 (€ 293.892,60).
